St Andrew’s Pre-School is a vibrant, happy, and friendly setting where every child is welcomed into a safe, secure, and stimulating environment. We are committed to ensuring that each child feels valued and supported from the moment they join us.

We recognise that every child is unique. Our experienced, highly qualified, and motivated staff encourage children to develop their creativity, individuality, and self-confidence within a well-managed and nurturing setting.

Our mixed-age sessions take place across two parallel settings on Cants Lane during the mornings, with all children coming together for afternoon sessions. We also operate an additional setting at Fairfield Community Centre in Burgess Hill.

Each day, our dedicated staff team creates a flexible, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where children can explore a rich variety of activities designed to inspire curiosity and development.

We aim to support children in developing self-respect, respect for others, and respect for their environment, helping them to reach their full potential in line with the principles of Every Child Matters.

St Andrew’s Pre-School is a committee-run, OFSTED-regulated setting. Our Unique Reference Numbers are 113716 (Cants Lane) and 2523735 (Fairfield). We are also a registered charity (Charity Number 1104242) and adhere to the standards set by the Charity Commission.

Safeguarding

Our setting works in partnership with children, parents, and outside agencies to promote the rights, well-being, and safety of every child, ensuring they receive the very best start in life. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, and all staff are fully trained in safeguarding children, enabling them to recognise and respond appropriately to any concerns.

Valuing diversity and promoting equality

Our setting is committed to anti-discriminatory practice, promoting equality of opportunity and valuing diversity for all children and their families. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to thrive.

Special needs

We provide an environment in which all children, including those with special educational needs, are supported to reach their full potential. We have a dedicated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) at each site, who ensures our provision meets the needs of each individual child, working in partnership with parents/carers and outside agencies to develop a learning plan specific to each child.
